Why the World is not following our Dear Leader

In one of his first official acts as President, Mr. Obama, on Day One of his misbegotten Administration, issued an Executive Order to himself that he has been flagrantly violating since January 20, 2010. As you will recall, he ordered himself to close Gitmo before the first year of his Presidency ended. Why you may ask, did the President publicly order himself to do something within his exclusive authority twelve months in the future? One plausible answer is that this very high profile Executive Order was issued for world-wide acclaim and respect to follow from this public act of contrition. He announced to the World that the United States now was returning to the norms of civilized nations, in which all good Americans abhor civil rights outrages, such as the purported Gitmo prisoner abuses perceived to be a major recruiting tool for the Islamist terrorists.

So, instead of just implementing the crucially needed "change" in national policy, the President merely offered his "hope" for a better country. Well loyal listeners, the world is still waiting for the President to keep his promise to himself. What must our allies think of the credibility of his promises to them, when he even lies to himself.

You already know what our enemies think of the Big Guy - he evokes no fear, no respect and certainly no credibility when he threatens them by saying he is keeping all "options on the table, including the military one" should a rogue nation like Iran or North Korea engage in any act of war or terrorist attack.

Indeed, this past year, North Korea exploded another nuclear bomb and torpedoed a South Korean navy destroyer, murdering 47 young sailors onboard this ship when it was attacked and sunk while patrolling in international waters. Hillary has promised our South Korean ally that a "very strong letter" will follow, to be sent to Beijing only. They are not impressed.

Time for the President to stop talking the talk, and start to walk the walk. Mr. President, if you really believe that Gitmo is a grave danger to our national security, prestige and image abroad, close it now and bring the terrorist suspects to NYC or DC for immediate civilian court trials. Please, do your job, or at least implement the changes you ordered yourself to do. Just saying...
