Thank you for making this Blog everything you have always wished for, and more.
Furthermore, I reaffirm my commitment to keep your First Amendment Rights and Duties vitally alive as you exercise your responsibilities as an engaged, and often enraged, citizen.
Turning to this sacred mission, I quote the lead federal prosecutor in summing up the government's case against former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich:
"Talking is the crime here, ladies and gentlemen ... you don't have to be
a successful criminal to be a criminal."
While I have no book with defending Governor Blago as other than the most talkative buffoon ever, I am deeply troubled by the Government's excessive prosecutorial zeal; indeed, here, what we apparently have is not a crime; instead its life imitating art. Will we see the police making arrests for "Future Crimes", irrespective of Tom Cruise exposing the Minority Report?
Please Loyal Listeners, think about the implications of mere talking being criminalized. What next? Will writing evil ideas in your personal diary also to be prosecuted? Will an individual's thinking bad ideas cause the Thought Police to be unleashed upon daydreamers? Or worst of all, will the day arrive when Your humble Blogger is to be indicted, tried and imprisoned for broadcasting legitimate criticisms of the Anointed One? Just saying...
....take the shot...
