As sports, we know, are more important than life itself, today we honor the brutal life of a God of Sport - George Blanda: University of Kentucky Army R.O.TC., honor graduate 1948; Pro football quarterback and place kicker, 1949 - 1975; retired at age 48 before being inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1981.
Nonetheless, Mr. Blanda is best remembered for his meritorious service with the French Foreign Legion, commanding an artillery platoon at Dien Bien Phu, Feb. thru April (off season) 1954.
I have to go back and re-read the history.... of both the NFL and the FFF.
ReplyDeleteRegrettably, U need only review one history, as U and other loyal listeners have again been PUNKED by HB.
