An Open Letter to President Obama - Its a War, Stupid

Let me begin by emphasizing that I mean not disrespect to our Nation's President, by the headline to today's Blog. In discussing a previous blog entry with an Elite Member over the Holidays, he stated that the Administration's cowardly use of the civilian courts to prosecute the Christmas Day Panty Bomber was really unimportant, because: "it will all come out in the wash, anyway."

What this former elite member's laundry has to do with our nation's survival is still not entirely clear to me, but I have concluded that I need to be less subtle and more direct in expressing my policy views in this forum, even as there will be one fewer home delivery after Thursday of this week.

In any event, because our nation's survival is the shared responsibility of all informed citizens - w/. Janet Napolitano being clueless, it up to us (and I do mean all disrespect to her view that the "system worked" inanity) - my crucial task here continues. So, be both very afraid and better informed, in order to carry out your own responsibilities to help convince this Administration to fight the ongoing WAR on Terror to win it, rather than prosecuting terrorists as merely street criminals who knocked over a 7/11 or corner gas station. Hence, my Open Letter to the President, which I encourage you to copy and forward to your own elected officials in Congress:

"Dear Mr. President: In your speech to the Nation from Hawaii yesterday, you reassured us that you would use all of our national power and authorities to prevent future terror attacks on Americans. As Commander in Chief, one of your powers is the authority to designate an apprehended terrorist as an enemy combatant, who can then be held by our intelligence agencies for interrogation on his knowledge of other impending attacks. You did not exercise this authority in the case of the NW Airlines bomber. Why not?"

A straight forward question, with huge portents for the next three year's of this President's short stay in Office. May we all seek Peace in the New Year, but thru real security and not the Sally Field notion of making nice with terrorists - they don't like us and never will.

A Red Herring Just bit Attorney General Holder

A.G. Holder ignorantly, or disingenuously, brushed off Senator Graham' s demand to commit the nation to win the war on terror, rather than merely arresting and prosecuting criminals, by saying that it was a red herring as to whether Osama Bin Laden would be given his miranda rights upon his apprehension.

Well guess what loyal listeners, that hypothetical apprehension scenario just became all too real - a Christmas miracle, if you will. Traveling not by sleigh but by NW airlines, Nigerian citizen and bomber, Umar Farouk, was apprehended in the skies near Detroit airport. He is an enemy combatant who attacked us - a terrorist act of war on western civilization. He is not an American citizen, so he has no constitutional protections in his custodial treatment after this apprehension.

Nonetheless, Umar has been charged by the Department of Justice with a criminal act in a federal civilian court, he has lawyered up (and naturally shut up), refusing to be interviewed by government anti-terrorist agents. Had Umar been immediately taken to a Michigan military base, he could have been interrogated continuously until he disclosed his knowledge of other pending operations to attack and kill Americans.

So, Mr. Holder - how does having no access and no information from Umar make us all so much safer than those Bush guys did with their secretly harsh interrogations, which lead to the stopping of many terrorist attacks on Americans? Just asking...

Harry Reid's Christmas present - Death of Democracy

Harry's killing of our nation's 233 year old system of self government is premeditated murder. Nevada's Senator Reid, admitted today that the Heath Care bill, now awaiting Senate approval, contains a provision outlawing any future repeal of a number of its new enactments, including the Health Insurance Benefits Advisory Panels. This Reid formerly hidden provision would make him a King, ruling by divine right so that his proclamations are the last and eternal word of a demi-god, a Deity himself even.

So much for the will of the people, and the right of future generations to enact improvements in governmental operations. Not necessary, as Harry believes that these panels are the perfect solution to the health care needs of the country for all time immemorial. Wow, I knew Harry was smart, now I know is he is the smartest human of all time, Christ-like even. How appropriate that our Savour has come to us during this Christmas season.

So, whatever your views might be as to the merits of the Health Care legislation, every American should be outraged by a proposed "Law to end all Laws", or most certainly the end of the Rule of Law and self government for all future Americans. The arrogance of this proposal is only exceeded by the magnitude of the power grab by Harry Reid; it constitutes a Coup d'e etat.

Is it Legal to Murder women and children w/. discrimination, as opposed to indiscriminately

Recently, two Elite members, Dr. Big Al (enthusiastic interpreter of the theorem of oil spill age dating) and Dr. Georgette (convinced interpreter of dirt aging theorem) both submitted unsuccessful prize contest entries, hoping to identify the United States War Cabinet Secretary who proclaimed: "Sometimes men need to die, willingly" to protect the homeland.

So, in the spirit of this Season of Peace and Goodwill to all men, and Nobel Prizes, accolades will be showered upon any Elite Member who can identify the legal theory our current Chief Executive is relying upon for immunity from criminal prosecution for authorizing more than 4o predator drone strikes inside of Pakistan in 2009, almost one per week of his Presidency. These unannounced, silent (until the bombs explode) attacks have been deemed to constitute unlawful summary executions of merely alleged criminals (and regrettably of wives, mothers, grandmothers, children, neighbors and other innocent bystanders) by a goodly number of international law scholars, and other liberal panty waists.

Accordingly, please submit no more than two answers, as the first one will be disregarded anyway, unless it reads word for word: " in prosecuting a lawful war of national defense, the killing of innocent civilians in the course of the killing of enemy combatants is a legal act."

Accordingly, should the President fully embrace his Justice Department's return to the pre-911 national policy of responding to Radical Islamic attacks on Americans as merely criminal offenses, he best be very vigilant regarding any anti-American views held by future appointees to the World Criminal Court in the Hague. As the Fort Hood murderer's prosecution by Court Martial shows, not even admitted mass murders can be summarily executed, except when killed on a wartime battlefield. Just saying....

The Tigger will not be Pilloried Here

Not a worthy endeavor to pile on the guy, as he is as buried in his own mess as deep as anyone I can recall, including the NY Luv Gov., Client No. 9. Besides how can I try to top today's NY Post headline: "Tiger Pulls Out", leaving the PGA tour for an indefinite hiatus of soul searching (Ouch). I do feel it is incumbent upon this Blog, however, to relate late breaking news from the Columbus Bee weekly - Fat Jack, the Golden Bear, has admitted to several of his confidants that over the past five years he has expended over $180 million dollars, paid to eager ladies agreeable to pursue a romantic relationship with the Tigr. Jack is reported to have told friends: "$180 million for call girls, very expensive, keeping the all-time record for wins in Majors, priceless."

All sarcasm aside, my view of this sordid affair is that moral dishonesty is never a victim free lifestyle, and it ultimately hurts everyone who cares for the perpetrator of the fraud.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Joy to Unbelievers

Season's Greetings to all six some billions of listeners out there reading this blog now, or not. At times, we all need to just step back from our individual and collective endeavors to improve the world, and see all the good and wonderful blessings we share as sentient beings inhabiting the 21st Century earth. Not the least of which is that none of us is the Number One Ranked Golfer in the World.

Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your contributions to the success of this Blog. Because of your status as an Elite Member, you will not be receiving an individual, hard copy Christmas card; instead, as my holiday gift to each Elite Member, you will have your free elite membership renewed for one more twelve month period of time.

Nonetheless, as foolish consistency is the hobgobblin of a small mind, I do expect purchased cards from all of you elite members. Alternatively, you can plant a small tree on private property somewhere accessible to your daily care routine in my name. Just saying...

Back to the Graveyard with a Bigger Shovel

At West Point this week, President Obama announced his plan to increase US combat missions in Afghanistan over the next 18 months, by sending an additional 30,000 troops, before commencing a phased reduction of said troop levels, beginning in July of 2011. I appreciated greatly the President's candor in not promising Victory, as that goal is surely illusory and unachievable.

Nonetheless, the President's four square adoption of the Soviet Union's late 1980s Afghanistan strategy is indeed distressing. Creating safe haven urban centers, while training the National army and National police force as a viable foundation to transition from foreign invader/occupier to friendly ally surely worked out well for them didn't it.

Keep in mind that the Administration's commitment of more than 100,000 combat forces is needed to counter the threat to our homeland by the estimated 100 (plus/minus) al Qaeda terrorists hiding out in unheated, but furnished, caves along the border with Pakistan. Now, most Elite Members will read that nonsensically small number of enemy combatants and say to other listeners: "there he goes again more ridiculous hyperbole." NOT SO - That number was given to the world press as background information for the President's West Point address by his National Security Advisor, General James Jones. Sounds to me, however, that a hundred or so terrorists could be terminated with extreme prejudice by our predator drones. Just saying...

The Voice of God has gone Silent

No, the secularization of America has not succeeded in having Rush Limbaugh banned from the airwaves. Rather, the long time N.Y. Yankee and New York Football Giants' public address announcer, Bob Sheppard, has retired after more than fifty five years of continuous service to his teams, city and nation. Mr. Sheppard's voice was so distinctive, so redolent, so pitch perfect that when going to Yankee stadium first for baseball, then football games and hearing the exact same melodic tones, I was convinced that he was a machine generated human voice. He will be missed.

Now, turning to the Madness of the Clowns - Three NAVY seals to be tried in a military court's martial for allegedly giving a high value terrorist a bloody upper lip shortly after they risked their lives behind enemy lines to capture him. This man, Ahmed Hasim Abed, had boasted of being responsible for the torture murders (and desecration/mutilation of their corpses) of four American security agents in Iraq in 2004.

Now, our military establishment, which ignored the impending terrorist killings at Fort Hood, is going to ruin three fighting heroes lives in a military trial that will not be the equal of what the 911 Mastermind will receive in federal civil court in New York City. All i can do now is refer you to an earlier Blog Post - the war is indeed over, We Lost.

So, it has really come down to this...

Let the Circus begin in earnest -

(Dateline: Berlin; November 20, 2009) Today, Germany's Chancellor issued the following statement (seen by many observers as consistent with the Nation's post-world war 2 commitment to the sanctity of all human life. Hey, 50 million dead, much ground to catch up on):

The Ministry of Justice will be sending multiple observers (who expect to be given guaranteed seating) to the upcoming Khalid Sheik Mohammed NYC federal civil court trial to ensure that no evidence derived from German Intelligence agencies is admitted into evidence in any of the court proceedings to impose the death penalty.

What are these German Justice representatives going to do when the U.S. prosecutor stands up to offer into evidence a German document, leap up themselves, shoot the Holder homeboy, and yell out, "I object to the admission of this evidence"? Please!!! The announcement of a NYC civil court trial is not two weeks old, and the madness is already upon us.

It has come down to this...

Penn State 59, Davidson 57. Game played at 10:00 a.m. this morning, because both teams were in the double loser/loser bracket of the Charleston Classic, in which eight teams played three games in four days. Every team but one got at least one win in the tournament. The Cats are now 0 - 4 for the season.

Next Wednesday nite, the lads play their 2009 home opener against 0 -2 Fredonia State. When the schedule for the season was released, I wondered why we scheduled these guys. I now know.

So, your humble blog will remain ever so humble, until Thanksgiving Eve. Anyone planning to be in the Charlotte, North Carolina vicinity for this holiday, please take in the game, there will be seats available, reasonably priced.

Why Graham Beat Holder Senseless w/. a Red Herring

Asked a simple question (by Senator Graham at the oversight hearing Wednesday) that any first year law student would "crush", Eric Holder, the simpleton impersonating a graduated attorney, got crushed instead. The Attorney General of the whole United States of all America said it depends so many times, I thought he had gone incontinent on us. Holder finally mumbled that whether he would give Bin Laden his Miranda rights upon arrest was simply a RED HERRING, unworthy of an answer.

This simple question, which anyone in the chain of command seeking to get Bid Laden, must have answered (or be literally brain dead), constitutes the key determinant as to whether our nation's national security Agencies will be fully empowered to win a WAR or be handcuffed by criminal lawyers defending mere criminal suspects.

Were Bin Laden to be apprehended and held as a prisoner of war, he will be interrogated in secret by CIA/FBI/military for as long as necessary to obtain actionable intelligence, real time disclosures on any ticking time bombs ready to explode in a major American city. Arrested and treated as a criminal suspect, Bin Laden must be given immediate access to a defense attorney. He will then refuse to speak to any government interrogators, thereby free to keep secret active plots that can then proceed to fruition, or even to fission (think dirty bomb).

Accordingly, this supposed red herring could kill many innocent Americans - one really mean fish after all. It may even be criminal for the A.G. not to see this fish's really sharp teeth, ready to bite off his smirking about nonsensical questions.

Soviet Style Show Trial for 911 Master mind

Attorney General Holder announced the transfer of the five 911 terrorists from GITMO to New York City for trial in civilian court as a testament to the integrity of the Rule of Law. We are going to prove to the entire world that America's system of justice is superior to the barbarism of the terrorists. Holder tells us that we will win the hearts and minds of the "Arab Street", because America's government is fair and always plays by the rule of law. These millions of very young impressionable minds will be won over to western civilization because of our adherence to due process, where even the most despicable defendant gets his day in court, to be declared guilty or innocent exclusively on the evidence presented. Then, should the jury acquit, the now declared innocent, fairly treated defendant walks out of the court room into the arms of his crying family.

Not the real, formerly secret plan here, however. Appearing on Fox News Sunday earlier today, Democrat United States Senator Jack Reed of R.I. let out this dirty little fact - should these 911 terrorists be found NOT GUILTY, they will be immediately declared threats to national security (after just one family hug in the court room, w/o. hand cuffs even removed) placed into permanent U.S. operated "preventative detention", consistent with well-founded principles of U. N. international law. So much for the need for a federal civilian court trial in NYC. Oh right, I forgot this TRIAL will be held to SHOW the world how to fairly decide a defendant's future treatment, except when the jury's ruling doesn't meet the government's plan.

Why One Rabid Listener got himself all Wee-Weed up

Coach Musselman, in 1966, told his Minnesota University Golden Gopher men's basketball team that "Defeat was worse than Death, because you have to live with defeat." Because college BB is not life, this idiot had lost all prospective, and in doing so did a great disservice to the young men under his charge. At least he wasn't the President of the United States of America.

Because the war on terrorism is not college sports, all of us may not get to live due to yesterday's crushing defeat, self imposed by the Chosen ONE. Here is why this Blog's most erudite listener, Dr. Al, called out the mountain high whiner - the dozens of bellowing defense lawyers for the 911 hijackers will be filing hundreds of pre-trial motions to put America itself on trial in civilian court. Top five you will see soon:

(1) Civilian court trial violates defendants' rights against Double Jeopardy;
(2) Civilian court trial violates defendants' rights as War-time Enemy Combatants;
(3) Civilian court trial violates defendants' rights to a Speedy Trial;
(4) Civilian court trial violates defendants' rights to Defense Counsel after arrest;
(5) Civilian court trial violates defendants' rights to have contested extradition.

I kid you not, this Administration is going to spend tens of millions of dollars to give the murderers of 3000 innocent Americans a world-wide microphone to preach jihad for years and years and still more years.

You can only be hurt by the ones U Love

Our oldest Elite member (both in term of length of service as a rabid listener and in age) wrote your humble blogger earlier today, to request more coverage of pleasanter topics, as his aging heart is becoming heavy, due to the magnitude of the dangers confronting our great Republic.

So, as I'm nothing if not compassionate, we now turn to the commencement of the post-Steff era at Davidson College men's basketball. The big 'Cats play pre-season ranked No.11, Butler Univ. at 2 p.m. tomorrow, viewable on your computer at the BU athletic webpage (free) and by computer audio at the DC webpage. Those planning on being in Indianapolis, Indiana tickets at Hinkle Gym are already sold out.

THE WAR IS OVER; Regrettably, terror won, we lost

(Date line: Wash. D.C. Nov. 13) Earlier today, Attorney General Holder announced that the four GITMO prisoners of war, being held by the U.S. Army for having master-minded the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center/Pentagon/Pennsylvania farm field plane attacks, will be moved to New York City for criminal trials in federal district court for the southern district of New York (civilian court).

This return to the Clinton era strategy of treating Muslim jihadists as everyday criminals means that whenever a terrorist is apprehended anywhere in the world (not one of these four were arrested inside the United States), he will be given his "miranda rights", most importantly the absolute right to the appointment of and presence of defense counsel BEFORE any questioning of this terrorist can be undertaken by the US government representatives.

Just imagine, the apprehended terrorist know where the ticking time bomb has been secreted with thousands of innocents in imminent jeopardy of a horrible death, but this individual can not be legally interrogated until he/she gets a bail hearing before a civil judge - 48 hours after the bomb's deadly explosion. Utter madness masquerading as protection of civil liberties.

When is this Administration going to start protecting us and not the terrorists who are winning the WAR against western civilization? Criminals are deterred by the risk of arrest and imprisonment, terrorists are never deterred by criminal prosecutions, they want to die to get all those 70 virgins awaiting them in eternal paradise.

First Duty of Citizenship; How to Primer

With the future of American Freedom in great jeopardy from the federal government's planned take over of all health care insurance in the nation, I am confident that your voice will be heard soon in Washington. Here is what I sent to my two U.S. Senators, Menendex and Lautenberg:

Dear Senator______:

It is my understanding that, upon being sworn in as an U.S. Senator, you swore an oath to
"... support and defend the Constitution." I know that you take this solemn obligation very seriously, indeed refusal to carry out the defense of the Constitution in the conduct of your senatorial duties, constitutes the willful forfeiture of the legal entitlement to the legislative office to which you were elected. Accordingly, should you intend to vote for a health care bill which includes a mandate for all uninured adults to purchase health care insurance, please tell me what provision of the Constitution you cite as the authority for this compulsory expenditure by individuals.

Additionally, can you refer me to any existing federal statutes which mandate the purchase of market available services by an individual or be fined and possibly incarcerated. Thank you for your advice on this matter of great concern.

Sincerely,

Hope this exemplar is helpful.

Time to Impose the Death Penalty, Twice?

As an Elite Blog Member, you know that your humble blogger is an advocate of the death penalty, for murderous criminals and for government agencies, but not, as planned by Speaker Pelosi, for old people deemed too expensive to keep their rationed health care.

Now, it may be time to execute both Major Hasan and the Federal Bureau of Investigation: one for treason, murder and cowardice, the latter for complicity in allowing these capital crimes to have been committed by a known, identified Muslim jihadist. The only plausible defense for the FBI is that Major Hasan had been recruited by the Bureau to be a double agent and to go to Afghanistan to help find other Muslim terrorists. Then, he went triple on his handlers.

I know that this hypothesis is very unlikely, but any other explanation for this failure of intelligence - the most damaging performance of national security apparatus since 2001, when the FBI ignored young Muslim men taking "How Not to Fly" commercial airliners training (no landing courses) - will cause me to advocate that the Bureau goes away, forever.

Nancy Pelosi's Second Crusade

Speaker Pelosi, flush with the ephemeral success of the "Death to America as we Know It" health care legislation, has weighed into national security matters in an effort to burnish her chances for a Noble Peace Prize. The Speaker, seeking to build upon her post-partisian coalition on the domestic front, spoke to the Arab American Friendship League on Sunday afternoon in Flint, Michigan.

During her lengthy talk about the religion of peace, Speaker Pellosi called upon Joint Chiefs Chairman General Casey to award Major Nadil Malik Hasan a Purple Heart, recognizing that this fine officer and gentleman was severely wounded in combat against his nation's enemy - the United States Army.

General Casey responded immediately by cautioning the Speaker on her apparent rush to judgment, in concluding that Major Hasan was fighting an enemy, as opposed to the PC hypothesis that he just snapped, due to the pressure of the Phillies losing in six games.

Yankees win, Yankees win, YANKEES WIIIIIINNNNNNN!!!!!!

I apologize for this tardy note of congrats to the World Champion New York Yankees. Real world of pest repellents, foreign bureaucrats and FreezePruf bottles kept getting in the way.

So, I will not waste time reminding our large Elite Membership contingent in Beantown that before the play-offs started, I predicted Yanks over Phillies in five games; oh well, they did win 4 - 2; I guess that $187 million a year just doesn't buy you as much as it did during the fat Bush years. Of course, my hat is off to Manager Charlie Manual, taking the Phils to the brink of a second consecutive world series championship while having no closer and last year's Series MVP useless. I say Charlie is my manager of the year, while Joe Garradi wins Over-Manager of the Year.

Now, turning again to matters of true national impotence - Pelosi, ushering in the new era of post-partianship, gets "The End Of Freedom" bill thru the House 218 - 215, with 39 Dems voting no. She did garner one RINO vote on this legislation, which the nation's doctors (those who haven't made arrangements to move to Cuba) have pronounced to be DOA in the U.S. Senate. So my friends stay thirsty and buy more gold, as the Dems. plan to impose more than $1.3 trillion dollars in new federal spending by our bankrupt government will not come to pass, so long as your 1st Amendment rights are exercised repeatedly (early and often) with your elected representatives.

The First Responsibility of Citizenship

As tomorrow is election day for new governors in both New Jersey and Virginia, I am contacting all my listeners nationwide, imploring each of them to contact everyone they know of voting age living in either the Commonwealth or in the Garden State to remind them that they collectively hold the future of our great Republic in their hands. This Blog is defiantly non-partisan, so I will make no candidate endorsements. I belong to only one political party: "the Party of the Outs", whoever is in office, I want them voted out. Only when one corrupt pol. has to turn over the gov't. books to a pol. from a different party, will stealing from taxpayers be minimized.

I will, however, ask each of you: are you better off (now that you have been an Elite Member for, most of you, more than three years)? So, armed with the blog entrusted enhanced wisdom and strengthened dedication to constitutional constraints on bloated, intrusive government, I am convinced that your exercise of this precious franchise will do honor to our nation.

First they come for the mental defectives, then the gypsies, then for the jews

... then for YOU. More listeners than sought additional insight into the origination of hypocrisy have petitioned for an elaboration of how ObamaCare's compelled purchase of health care insurance by everyone will fundamentally and detrimentally alter the government's relationship with the American citizen.

One example of the slippery slope created by this unconstitutional power grab will have to suffice for today (there is twelve hours of football to watch after all).

Were the promotion of the general welfare be a valid Constitutional provision to take an individual's private property, (his money, assets, forcing that person to spend thousands of dollars annually for a unwanted commodity that he may not use once during that time period), then Congress, after declaring a national housing shortage, could mandate that every individual owning a weekend or vacation home had to allow homeless people to occupy that dwelling at all times the owner didn't use it.

Surely, giving up your asset (but only for some multiple weeks per year) to shelter the poor and endangered homeless of this nation will promote the general welfare. So, those of you with a spare bedroom in your primary residence beware, because it could be next. Just saying ...

The Demo's ObamaCare makes you an offer you can't refuse

Every once in awhile, a defining moment for a person, for a family, for a community and for a nation occurs. We are now approaching such a momentous event for all of the above.
Soon, everyone in America will need to stand-up and be counted, or stand down and be herded like sheep into a forced collective as docile servants of the State, under the guise of compelled individual behavior to "promote the general welfare".

For first time in our 233 year history, the STATISTS (Government is the Solution) in Congress are asserting the constitutional authority to force every American citizen to purchase a discretionary commodity to be selected by Washington bureaucrats - universal health insurance. Failure to buy mandatory health care coverage would be penalized by fines, and even the potential for imprisonment.

Should these Statists succeed in compelling the expenditure of a person's private assets in this coercive fashion, the relationship of the individual to the American government will be radically and perversely altered forever. It will not longer be by the people or for the people.

A precedent that: "for the good of everyone, an individual's otherwise perfectly legal choice on the spending of his/her own money is curtailed" surely will soon result in even more intrusive controls over our private lives for the "greater good". To stay free, your voice must be heard in Washington with the clarion call: "my life, my money, my choices". Buy gold, my friends, and not the public option.

NOT just another anti-Obama screed...(UPDATED)

Many listeners (hyperbole) have informed me that my insight into hypocrisy seems to have a vaguely familiar ring to it - so succinct, so witty, so pedantic, so, well, french intellectual.

Thus, having previously groused about the sanctity of intellectual property (See, Afghanistan, Graveyard etc.), I do acknowledge my cribbing from the Nobleman Francis de La Rochefoucauld
born, Paris, France (1613 - 1680), who published a book (still in print today) devoted exclusively to short insights into life - kind of similar to writing a blog offering nothing but random thoughts!

Anyway, this brilliant philosopher stated in 1671 (exacting 300 years prior to my matriculation at DC): "Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue". Of course, I didn't do the full translation, so he might have used the word "honor" instead of "homage", but who really cares, now that I have revealed my lack of original thinking. Just saying...

NOT just another anti-Obama screed...

I will not being receiving $250.00 senior citizen payment from the federal government, as I remain firmly ensconced in raging resistance to the fading glow of my middle age years. Eligibility still a few year off, I think, which endeavor daily becomes more troublesome. But enuff about me.

Not long ago, sufficiently recently that even us of shortening short term memory recall, the President demanded that every one of his cabinet members immediately reduce their Department's current expenditures by $100,000,000.00 annually because the nation is bankrupt, broke, penniless, the biggest debtor in the entire history of the world. Our sovereignty is in jeopardy as the Chi-coms, Saudis and other despots own more than 70% of our nation's debt.

Faced with this unprecedented crisis, the President stated that the federal government would need to fund vital programs, and delay until we could afford them, programs that while worthy, are not essential, as is deficit reduction. Now, Social Security will not get an inflation increase this year because we are experiencing deflation. So, based upon a rational formula, the government gets to save several billion dollars w/o. causing painful sacrifices by our vulnerable seniors on fixed incomes.

Not so fast, my friends. Having made the case that we must stop robbing our children and grand children's future right to economic security, the President offers to pay every senior in America $250.00, because he likes them all and he wants to be worthy of their gratitude.

Oh well, we should all be grateful that hypocrisy is the honor vice pays to virtue, when saying one thing (right) and doing another (wrong). Maybe, he thinks we forget what he says after just 48 hours, the expiration day on his commitments? Just saying...

Happy Columbus Day, and to our loyal canadian ...

contingent, Happy Thanksgiving. What no Italians living in Toronto? Seems to me our northern friends have missed an opportunity to get another national holiday here.

More quick hits - No mention will be made of the Boston Red Soxes, as Blog rules forbid same.

I will send a case of free FreezePruf to any elite member who can show that they predicted that the Denver Bron-aids would be undefeated after the second week of the NFL season, let alone after five weeks of play.

NY Football Giants are just where I predicted they would be at this stage - the best team in all of football. Of course, JINTS' Supremacy has my stance every single year since Yelberton Albert Tittle first laced up his giant cleats in 1961. (definition of a fan, after all).

Phillies of Philly are the most dissed World Champion team ever: first two games started at worst time for players and fans - midafternoon shadows at their most disruptive point, then last nite game started at 10 p.m. eastern time. Only a very few Phillie fans saw game end after 2 a.m. this morning. City of Philadelphia deserves better.

With all the important topics have been fully addressed, I turn to a suddenly Peaceable Planet. We are in day 47 of the One's re-deliberation of his March 27th Afghan. strategy. Finally, he is taking Ike's advice and not rushing into a major blunder; Oops, he already agreed to send 20,000 additional combat troops to the Graveyard of All Empires; current debate is only concerned with the next requested deployment of 40,000 more heroic warriors.

So, clearly it is time to end "Don't ask, don't tell". We need to have access to every American Patriot volunteering to serve in harm's way, inasmuch as so many more will be sacrificed soon on the alter of futile nation building. Just saying...

Quick Hits Only - due to FreezePruf spat w/. Canada

Give the devil his due, Favre's head did not explode, regrettably;

Chicago didn't get its due, as 2016 Games went south, regrettably;

President Obama is going no where, as futile war in Afghanistan goes on while strategy
debate ensues, regrettably;

New Jersey criminal trial judge permits defense lawyer to argue as a defense to murder charge that, inasmuch as defendant's boss ordered the killing, his client's action was not first degree murder, but merely manslaughter; unbelievable.

NY Yankees are Champs again...

which means that the Bloody Soxes are the Biggest Loser, again. After the August sweep (all right winning two three, which is just fine with Meatloaf), an Elite Member wrote me suggesting that my gloating blog at that time was dangerously premature. So, just one question, Theodore:

How's my timing now?

Yankees in five over the Phighten Phillies. Staying with the World of Sports, President Obama leaving Thursday for a visit to my ancestral home, Copenhagen, Denmark. After pleading for the International Olympic Committee to award the 2016 summer games to Chicago, the President, it is said, will drop by 26 Vogsmansmarken Street to home for the Ms. Annie and the Ms. Vera Onsdorff, who lived there from 1937 until their demise, consistent with the care limitations of the Danish socialized medicine system.

While this visit to pay homage to an American Family is certainly appropriate, one may question how Presidential is a lobbying trip for just one American governmental subdivision for an event nine years hence. Oh well, this President should pay off his political debt, particularly, when two wars and other national security issues are not really clamoring for his immediate attention.

John Corzine is no Janet Napolitano

As you all know, I sell (and give away) environmentally friendly pest repellents, and the cold air plant muffler, FreezePruf - with a full half case now in my basement ready to be awarded to attentive Elite Members. So, I know a hard sales job when I see one.

John Corzine for a second term as Governor of NJ is no political Ad Man's dream assignment, for sure!

Bereft of economic accomplishments of note, Corzine's ads focus on his understated good looks, charming personality and inspiring life story. We are told, John grew up dirt poor, unloved and unbefriended. Undeterred by having had no social contacts for the first 22 years of life, John studied diligently, but alone, for an MBA at an Ivy League University. Upon graduating with such a prestigious business degree, John decided to make his mark in the world financial capital, NYC. John became a Master of his Universe, but not right away.

John's ads inform us that he initially accepted a position at a leading Wall Street Investment Bank, in which his sole duty was to get coffee for his immediate supervisor. Surprisingly, these ads do not tell us whether or not John excelled in this position, or whether he got his first promotion after just one or two years. What this ad campaign does tell us is that Corzine always wanted to "be someone" rather than to "do something important".

I know of nothing more informative than learning that a man completely sublimated his own existence to serve as another man's gofer. I can surmise that when the Ad Agency told the Gov that the focus of his re-election campaign would be his willing obsequious debasement, he must have asked: "Is that all there is?".

Well yes, other than the utter stupidity of ordering his own chauffeur/gofer to roar up the GSP at ninety plus miles per hour while not wearing a seat belt - him, not the State Trooper, rushing the Gov to a meeting with Imus and the Rutgers University insulted (by Imus, not Corzine) womens' basketball team A born leader, indeed.

It just doesn't get much better than this...

Tony Romo, three picks, including one pick six; Should have been two.  Oh my.
           Jerry Jones shown on national TV, in owner's box, picking his nose after Romo's 3rd pick;

JINTS win game on last second field goal, after Wade Phillips calls time-out as kicker L. Tynes was already starting his first attempt.  Classless move from a classless organization.

Only element of cosmic justice missing - neither punter kick hit the jumbo tron. Ah, next week.

Now, a message from our Sponsor

Despite prevailing wisdom, this Blog is still not self sustaining.

Accordingly, we now turn from Revealed Wisdom (the imperfections of pols, pundits and other pathetic perfidies) to the unmatched Perfection of the Liquid Fence Company.  This most Environmentally Friendly firm has  authorized me to announce its most recent scientific breakthrough - "FreezePruf"- anti-freeze, cold weather protectant for your outdoor plants, shrubs and edible produce.

Invented by a team of world renown botantists, indeed, professors of Agricultural Science at the U. of Al., FreezePruf is the reason the football team is now proud of its affiliated School. FreezePruf is legally available in most areas of the continental U.S. (not Hawaii, of course).

Nonetheless, due to a crescendo of pent-up horticultural clamor, your local gardening supply retailer may have some difficulty filling orders prior to the frost being seen on your favorite pumpkin.  Fortunately, all Elite level Blog members - YOU - are eligible for free delivery of a free bottle of FreezePruf.

To qualify, simply submit a short essay explaining the three most significant debacles for which this Blog has articulated solutions thru the application of principled leadership and determined commitment to Constitutional governance.  All Elite benefit winners will be so notified by upcoming Blog entry.

Good thinking and writing to All; stay thirsty and buy more FreezePruf.

What in the World does Supreme Court know...

... and when will we know that at least five of its members understand the foremost constitutional principle that unfettered political speech is the core First Amendment right of every American, including those groups of citizens who choose to organize themselves as a corporate entity, both for profit and for eleemosynary purposes.

Under McCain Feigngold, corporations and unions are prohibited from the expenditure of their general treasury funds for any electioneering communications, that is advocacy for or against any candidate for federal office at times relevant to the influencing of potential voters.  Sounds like the patriotic obligation of every citizen in our Republic.

Yet, the MSM uniformly supports this undemocratic limitation on political speech.  Why you ask?  Because the participation of corporations in attempting to sway voter sentiments is only "corrupting", and "venial" when it is done by other corporations.  NY Times Corporation, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, Washington Post, etc, are all corporate entities that do whatever they possibly can to influence voters, but they have an exemption from McCain Feigngold as the benighted Fourth Estate.  Journalist can never be constitutionally regulated, because of the protections set forth in the 1st Amendment.

Thank goodness, I am a recognized journalist myself.

What in the World does Janet Napolitano know...

... and when will we know that she actually knows something?

(Dateline: Wash. D.C.; September 9, 2009)  Traveled to our Nation's capital to take the pulse of an aroused citizenry on this solemn 911 anniversary.  Day One:  Focus on two executive branch officials most responsible for nation's safety - the President and DHS Secretary.  Both individuals gave speeches to national audiences to which I gained free access.

President Obama's soaring rhetoric and eloquence on health care bills reminds us that he possesses that rare charisma and oratorical skill so vital to inspirational leadership.

In contrast, Secretary Napolitano's oratory is so barren that one must ask, when she "leads", does anyone, anytime follow?  Two examples - Speaking at the ground breaking of the new 2.6 billion dollar DHS Hq. complex, the Secretary told the nation that this office campus will facilitate "intra-departmental communications", and she assured taxpayers that "many more meetings" will be held soon.  I feel safer already, don't you?

In a follow-up press conference, the Secretary elaborated on these benefits to national security: "Q. Knowing what you know, do you think [the public] would have a different view of preparedness." A. Oh, yes, perhaps.  But on the other hand..." (Wash. Post A21; 9/10/09).

This dichotomy  in leadership abilities is not only inexplicable, it is dangerous, perhaps.  Why?

The Secretary supervises the US Coast Guard and knew of (or didn't know of) its fake live fire pursuit boat drill adjacent to the Pentagon on the morning of 911, as the President was crossing the Potomac River by limo returning from the Pentagon at the exact same time.  Brilliant!

Oh well, the Chicago Tribune had some explaining to do

... also, when Dewey took it on the chin from President Truman.

So, in this same spirit of taking personal accountability for one's gaffes, I knew what my Blog said when I signed it.  I hereby apologize to the formerly fightin Christians of Elon University. Calling them slimy eels was locker room fodder that in all likelihood inspired and motivated their players to ring up a cool 56 points on DC, while holding the 'Cats scoreless.

Now, on a more positive note, ND got off to a marvelous start, crushing U. of Nevada, and Middlebury remains unbeaten.  The Panthers will be undefeated until at least September 26th when they open their season against the Bowdoin Bears of Maine.  Its it a welcome change from the semi-pros of the BCS conferences, who play a game or two before school for real students even starts?

Why I Do want the President speaking to school children

Lead Story yesterday in the "Paper of Record" for NJ - President Obama will go on TV to speak to the nation's school children, as a role model, as national cheerleader, as an example of accomplishment and beacon of optimism.  Well now, who can disagree with that?

Yes, your right, its me (irrespective of today's blog title, but more on this accurate statement later).  The Star Ledger tried to convince us that the President's Talk will be so saccharin that no responsible parent could possibly object to its content.  Indeed, telling students to study hard and stay in school is a laudable message, but when given by a person who will never have any individual contact with school children other than his own two daughters, it becomes a forgettable 10 minute interlude that will be forgotten 10 minutes later at recess or nap time.

So, why the bombastic opposition in this forum?  First, what here is not so presented? Secondly, the President is not paid to be a"cheerleader" in this most local of venues.  Whether "Johny"does 20 minutes or 45 minutes of homework daily is the ultimate non-presidential concern.  He has one job commensurate with the stature of his High Office- keep the NATION safe, which vital national security duty, for an apt example, is inexorably tied to the peaceable resolution of the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

Accordingly, President Obama should go on state TV and radio in every arab country to speak to literally millions of children being indoctrinated daily to wage war on the Nation of Israel to return these "occupied lands" to their rightful arab owners.

The President can deliver a critically important message to inspire and motivate these young, impressionable minds that "Land for Peace" is a fraud, unless and until arab children learn that jewish children have the right to a peaceable life, Israel is a legitimate nation who citizens are not pigs, blood suckers nor terrorists (as now instructed in most arab schools and mosques).

When the President proclaims this desperately needed school lesson, that no Palestinian state will get US support until arab children support the existence of the Nation of Israel, he will perform the job he was hired to do, and it is not to be the School Board President in any and every US community.  I say: let the President be President, to work now and every day on national issues he can have actually positively affect to the great benefit of all the world's kids.

Why I don't want the President speaking to school children

Our Nation's Renaissance Man, Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson, has been credited with stating well one of my core beliefs:  "The Government which governs least, governs best".  A corollary to this principle is the belief that "the government closest to the citizen, best respects individual rights."  Not nearly as eloquent to Tom Jefferson, but equally true.

When a politician holds the fate of 300 million persons in his/her hands, the ability to see each person's individual circumstance is quite limited, obviously.  So, the calculation that a proposed government program (universal affordable health care) will benefit millions and millions of Americans (while imposing certain unspecified or unknowable in advance costs and sacrifices on others) sounds benign, indeed. Particularly so, when the national leader's knowledge of each family's current assets and future obligations is vague, at best.

One example of such a"Statist" outlook - centralized gov't. power is the true source of societal welfare - is epitomized by a few of Ted Kennedy eulogies:   "Senator Kennedy's unprecedented contributions to the good of the Nation far outweighed his private peccadillos." One commentator took this proposition to its ultimate illogical conclusion: "Mary Jo Kopechne would have been proud to have died so as to inspire Ted Kennedy to dedicate himself after Chappaquidick to servicing the public weal."

In my America, however, every individual has the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to reach his/her individual potential, with the government mostly staying out of the way. With hundreds of millions free to control their own dreams and destinies, overall societal benefits are best maximized.  No "great leader" has the privilege to drive me off a bridge, to get a better focus on helping the poor, the oppressed or the unmotivated.

Accordingly, I want the President totally focused on speaking to our military about national defense, our State Department about foreign relations and our Treasury about how much more of America's unsustainable debt he can sell to the ChiComs, Saudi and Japanese.

Our elementary schools are best lead, inspired and supervised by our local officials, teachers and most importantly, the students' involved parents.  Let the President be the US leader, not the President of every single PTA in the nation's many millions of very different locales.

From one small voice in the wilderness...

grows a Tsummi, a veritable tidal wave of engaged citizen voices demanding (not hoping for) change of wrongheaded policies, injurious to our nation.  See, Afghanistan, Graveyard of Empires

On August 21st, your humble blogger declared that "...[America] can accomplish our national security objectives w/. a small in-country Delta Force and a sufficient number of Predator drones...".

On September 1st, George Will declared that "... America should do [to protect our national security] only what can be done from offshore, using drones... and small potent special forces units."

Now, setting aside this possible piracy of my intellectual property, I am very grateful that Mr. Will has joined my legion of dutiful followers. First, R. Peters, then G. Wills, next all of you.

Englewood Tent City - Million dollar construction nearing completion

NEWS ALERT: (Update 2:20 p.m. 8/28/09) The Englewood, New Jersey estate, owned by the Libyan terrorist state, was an unimproved eye sore, until two weeks ago.  Construction since then has been almost non-stop, day and night, getting the premises ready for accommodating the still humble, Colonel Khadafy (40 years in power and he still hasn't made General) during his impending UN visit in September.  Because of Khadafy's well known, even famous parsimony, (He does live in a used tent), the commencement of these expensive housing preparations compels but one conclusion - The State Department's already issued visa authorizes Khadafy to travel from New York to the Garden State, where he has planted such poisonous roots.

ELITE MEMBER bonus - Should you be reading this item, then your Elite status has been automatically renewed.  Congratulations, you are now eligible to enter the Ali Mohmed Death Panel Prostate Cancer Date of Passing Lottery - choose three months (and he dies in 90 days) get Life Time Free Elite Membership; choose six months (dies 180 days) get two year free renewal; choose nine months (dies in 270) get free pre-natal care for first born grandchild; choose twelve months and get a free weekend in New Jersey; choose more than twelve months get a free vacation in Tripoli, Libya tent included.  Entries must be received by September 12th.

Why is it always New Jersey? Or, don't cry for Me Englewood

Credible reports (their credibility flowing inevitably from their consistency with my belief system) report that the single Scottish Doctor who examined Pan Am bomber Abdel Base Ali Mohmed al-Megtahi was the current Chairman of Great Britain's National Health System End of Life Counseling Board.  Commentators have asserted that this government bureaucrat thinks that the majority of individuals he evaluates have but three months or less to live.   Chairman Orwell stated that no further care would be budgeted for Ali Mohmed, because he had no prospects again to contribute productively to western society, did not have any income while requiring significant government services 24/7 365 days a year.

Therefore, Ali Mohmed was flown back to Libya for a heroes welcome on a Libyian National Airlines, Boeing 747 commercial airliner - no irony there.

Our President has an opportunity to show meaningful moral leadership to the entire very much watching world - Yes, give Khadafy his UN visa (required by treaty), but limit his travel to Manhattan only.  Jersey is home to families of some thirty plus Lockerbie  victims.  What possible reason would exist to grant special treatment to this murderous terrorist?

No Honor among Thieves or Criminal (defense) Lawyers

Despite being within a short walk of the Kennedy Hyannis compound, the Chosen One apparently was too busy conferencing with his Attorney General regarding the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate CIA officers for engaging in "harsh" interrogation techniques on mass murders to visit the ailing last brother.  Golfing too, but that's worthy.

To my mind, the simulated shooting of a terrorist in the next interrogation room (by firing a blank round w/n. ear shot of the terrorist being questioned, followed by the CIA questioner yelling out to the shooter: "Hey, save a bullet, he wouldn't talk and his time is about up") is
not torture.  Mental cruelty, by scaring a terrorist w/. threats never carried out, is surely mean and even unseemly.  (Burning to death thousands in the World Trade Center towers is beyond words, and to prevent future attacks, I expect  the CIA to deal harshly with the responsible terrorists.)  It is not prohibited by any US statute or international treaty, however.

What is a federal felony is the disclosure of the identities of CIA covert operatives, e.g. Valerie Plame.  Now, we learn that ACLU lawyers for these same terrorists showed them photos of CIA agents, in hopes of identifying these covert operatives for use at upcoming trials where their names would have to become public.

I await the Commander in Chief's announcement of the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate these egregious violations of the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982.

CC Rule 2947: Timing is Every Thing

Open Mike Update - Errata sheet on Floating Bubbles

This opinion Column, still awaiting... Sorry, you already know syndication status.

What needs to be clarified, however, is that Code of Conduct Rule 1471 mandates that whenever a greater truth is illustrated thru a hyperbolically exaggerated spoof (hyperbole) or an thru an out and out false statement, that this use of parody must be absolutely clear by the context or thru explicit identification of the particular truthful falsehood as being a "Parody".

So, in a strict constructionist application of CC 1471, Ted's dog is not really named Floating Bubbles.  Actually, his dog is called "Splash" - literal truth.

"Open Mike day": First Listener Request Fulfilled

This Opinion Column, still awaiting syndication through MSM outlets, operates on a number of inflexible and rigorously enforced standards of journalistic ethics.

Rule number 1473 in the "Onsdorffersphere Code of Conduct" is to never speak ill of the dead. The terminally ill, however, better watch out, as we will not suffer fools gladly here.  In this vein, I definitely suggest that Ted Kennedy try to keep his head above the water line, which in his situation is way to close to the Mendoza Line.

First he names his new dog "Floating Bubbles", then he recuses himself full time from all Senatorial duties for the last five (5) months, while hiding from the Grim Reaper.  All well and good for him, but what about his constituents who elected him to stand tall for their interests in the Congress?

I kid you not, Ted weighed in on this serious issue in a letter to the Governor late last week, saying that upon his departure from his Senate seat, the critically important issues now confronting our Republic were too pressing to wait 5 months for a special election to be held to fill this "soon" to occur vacancy.

Apparently, no one on the de facto former senator's staff told him of the irony of his wanting a working Senator appointed the minute he leaves Mass. high and dry yet again.

Yankees Make Meatloaf out of Bloody Soxes

As you know, two out of three ain't bad:

                                            Jeter - 1

                                                Cano - 1

                                           A -Rotten - 1

                                             Godzilla - 2

Hooray: A Just Deity definitely does Exist, and is Very Smart

She apparently decided that waiting on Favre might be too slow and painful to watch, such that we mortals would see this egomaniac demise as of questionable dignity.

Accordingly, She determined instead to immediately smite the biggest Egomaniac, not named your humble Blogger, Jerry Jones.  JJ as he is called, just built the most expensive sports arena in world history, costing more than 1.2 billion dollars.

Nonetheless, the Stadium is so poorly designed that several hundred million dollars more will be needed to be spent to move the sideline video jumbo trons, which currently are being hit by every third punt kicked from between the 20 to 30 yard lines.

Now, that is divine intervention at its best, as the Evil actually do get punished.

Go JINTS, and stay thirsty my friends.

Afghanistan: Graveyard of Empires for 3000 years

I am shocked and amazed by the complete absence of vocal opposition to the US occupation of Afghanistan by our armed forces.  As you will recall, the lefties decried the war in Iraq, calling it unwinable  and a unconscionable waste of national treasure and spilled blood of innocents.

Leaving aside the validity of these Iraq anti-war sediments, the silence on the war in Afghanistan is truly deafening.  Accordingly, with the lefties apparently cowed by the Messiah, it falls to me, Ok, and Ralph Peters and me, to demand an end to the ongoing Madness.  Let's be clear here - we will never build a reliable national army or national police force in Afg. because there is NO NATION of AFGHANISTAN.  There are only warring tribes infused by century old blood fueds.

Nonetheless, we can still accomplish our national security objectives w/. a small in-country Delta Force and sufficient number of Predator drones.  Preventing Afg. from again being a safe haven for terrorists does not entail making Afg. a stable 21st Century democracy.  Nor do we need to bomb it back to the Stone Age, it is there already.  We should have learned the Soviet invasion lesson - Afghans live to fight foreigners and exault in dying for this jihadist cause.

War is Peace forever in Afghanistan. So, the right time to leave is definitely now.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was no Abe Lincoln

Nor was he Mr. Republican, Robert Taft of Ohio, but that is an expo faxto issue better left to the glimmering mists of the most obscure historians.  Think no Victors' Justice as your key words if you want to unlock this mystery of Taft's world view.

Now, I remember Ike's speeches, and to be kind, he was no JFK in using the bully pulpit as the leader of Free World to garner public support for his country's causes - defeat of the Russian communists' drive toward world domination, and an interstate highway for every Congressional District.  Yes, they were BIG issues that IKE took on in his presidency.  Indeed, he saved us, while bestowing upon the nation, Richard Milhous Nixon.

Despite Tricky Dick,  Ike was foremost a historically gifted manger and executive - he designed, organized and managed the single largest human undertaking in history, the D-Day invasion of Europe.  He mobilized more than two million armed service personnel and put them on ships and planes on June 5, 1944, and then agonized for more than 14 hours over whether the weather was good enuff to launch this armada.  With multitudes of generals and admirals demanding his decision, Ike vowed he would "never rush into making a mistake" with so many lives at stake. Think Obama care.  What would President Eisenhower advise his successor with 300 million lives at stake?

Yes Virginia, there may be a God(dess)

Due to extended pro bono junket to "HotLanta", Georgia, there has been a short hiatus in publication intervals, but trust me, your anxious waiting has been worthwhile - since Sunday, the there have been several existential demonstrations of the existence of a Just Deity.

         * Y. E. Yang an eastern prophet, followed his Star westward to bring the world news of  salvation from the Eye of the Tiger;

           *Bret, the Crying Man, Favre followed his Star northward to bring the world news of his own resurrection, coupled with his intent to nail the Pack to a cross of pig skin, not once, but twice, before the cock crows thrice.  His upcoming re-burial will be a tru sign;

            *Ely, the Silent, spoke volumes in inking a five year contract extension with the JINTS, giving Big Blue the keys to the Kingdom forever more;

So, keep the faith my friends, stay thirsty and buy more GOLD.

Where Eagles Dare to Go, and Broncos Roam Alone

Eagles coach, Andy Reid, explained that his team would be markedly improved with the addition of Michael Vick.  Observing that his offense often seemed listless and lacked fire in 2009, Reid said that Vick gives them the missing "Killer Instinct" when he goes into a game to replace "girlie-man" Donavan McNabb.

Reid ended his endorsement by pointing out that he likes criminals, having two sons who now are serving out their prison sentences working in the Eagles locker room, so what's one more goon with blood on his conscience.  It should be neat for team chemistry.

Further west, Denver Broncos fans have now turned their lonely eyes to Chris Simms, as it turns out that Kyle Orton is actually Bubby Brister in drag.

It is a good year to be a JINT, Go Big Blue.

A Rising Tide Lifts all Boats, until the ChiComs Pull the Plug

In 1970, as an idealistic student of American Government, writing my junior year thesis, entitled : "Congressional Oversight of Weapons Systems Acquisition by DoD", I noted that the annual federal executive branch budget of 200 billion dollars was skewed toward unreliable and unproven weapon systems that Generals and Admirals demanded, irrespective of growing federal deficits.

Yes, I was a fiscal conservative even then.  National defense was and always will be the first obligation of our federal officials, but that utmost responsibility makes it even more important that procurement be done intelligently.

I burden you with this background only as a point of reference to the current out of control federal fiscal policies - last month's 30 day deficit spending exceeded all federal government expenditures for all of 1970.  We will run a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit this year.  That amount of borrowing is clearly unsustainable.

Today, the recession might well be easing, due to the government's hemorrhaging of paper money (literally printed by the Treasury and shipped to the Federal Reserve to buy Treasury bonds).  Nonetheless, this illusory return of prosperity will evaporate quicker than the morning due in July, once our foreign borrowers see the buying power of their US dollar investment crash and burn, as the world economy is saturated with hundreds of billions more U.S. dollars than these currency markets can accomodate without a massive devaluation of the dollar/world currencies conversion rates.

So, I say to you: Stay thirsty my friends, and buy gold now.

Don't go gently into the Night

Two universal and unassailable principles which must be applied by all informed citizens to the ongoing health care debate:

 (1) "Affordable Heath Care" for all people is not a moral imperative, nor a fundamental human right.  The Constitution enshrines as our God given rights - Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness;  not employment, not a home, not a free car (ok, up to $4,500. toward one), not a country club membership, nor a free college education.

(2) We are only assured freedom - the opportunity to achieve whatever material goals to which we aspire, and our talent, work ethic and family connections enable us to earn.  Any "reforms" promising affordable public health care for an additional 50 million people, including illegal aliens, w/. lower costs for everyone, including the destitute, w/. no slower delivery of services (but w/o. additional tens of thousands of doctors) requires us to demand loudly how the same federal government, which has never delivered any social  program "on time or on budget", can so easily dismiss the immutable law of economics - more purchasers for the same amount of goods increases costs.  So please ask your Congress persons: "A trillion more dollars for government health insurance is affordable to whom, exactly?"

Andy Pettitte and Phil Coke

Baseball lives for its stats, which is why the steroids use by players hurts and angers baseball fans, while positive drug tests for NFL thugs result in only yawns of indifference.

So, it is incredible to see the following in yesterday's box score for the Yanks/Soxes:

             Pettitte: IP7, H5, R0, ER0, BB0, S4  -  No decision
              Coke:     IP1, H3, R2, ER2, BB0,  S1  - Winning Pitcher

Go figure.

Yankees Rule

... Bloody sox drool.  Oh, how the worm turns!  reported on ESPN earlier today - Sox gives work outs to new pitching prospects Jim Kaat, Jim Bunning and Sandy Koufax.  More expected soon.
